In conjunction with the Congress 2008 to be held in Malaysia, the
Malaysia Branch will be hosting an International ADR Conference
in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. This event usually
held bi-annually is the highlight in the calendar of the arbitral
fraternity in the region and in Malaysia in particular. The theme
for this year’s Conference is “Making the Right Choice”
in alternative dispute resolution. Amongst others, the keynote speech
will address “The Changing Face of Dispute Resolution”
by an eminent speaker from the UK. There will also be other speakers
who are being invited from the US, China, Australia, Dubai, Malaysia,
Singapore, UK, Hong Kong and Africa to share with the delegates
their knowledge and experience in dispute resolution in certain
specific areas, such as in oil and gas, construction, intellectual
property, Islamic banking, and consumer disputes.
For those who have not been to the Far East, Malaysia is located
in centre of the region, perpetually experiencing summer weather.
We house the tallest twin towers at 452 m high and the 4th tallest
telecommunication tower in the world. We have numerous reasonably
priced 5-star and 4-star hotels in and around Kuala Lumpur. Very
affordable tour packages can be arranged to other parts of Malaysia
especially to East Malaysia comprising the exotic Sabah (previously
known as “British North Borneo”) and Sarawak. With the
