The Malaysia Branch will be hosting the Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting and the 3rd CIArb Congress 2008 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia from 23rd to 25th October 2008. The BOT meeting will be held from 23rd October 2008 and is expected to conclude on the morning of 24th October before lunch. A welcome luncheon will be held for the Trustees and the delegates to the Congress at the Resort hotel of the BOT meeting and the Congress on 24th October. Immediately after the lunch, the Congress will be held until the afternoon of 25th October 2008. At the conclusion of the Congress, the delegates attending this Congress and the Trustees will be given an option to savour the eco-treasures of Sabah. The Malaysia Branch will arrange for delegates to the Congress and Trustees a choice of 3-day tour package for 3 days’ of rest and recreation. You can choose either the “Sun and Beach package” at Pulau Tiga (where part of “The Survivor” television series was filmed) or the mountain climbing package to climb Mount Kinabalu (the highest mountain in South East Asia) or the diving package to dive at the beautiful Sipadan Island

Sabah sits at the tip of Borneo, the world’s third largest island. Its 1,440 km (900 miles) coastline is washed by the South China Sea on the West and the Sulu and Celebes Seas on the East. Lying north of the equator, Sabah enjoys a sunny tropical climate where it is summer all year round.

The State of Sabah is also commonly known as “The Land Below The Wind” for being located just below the typhoon belt in the South China Sea. It is a tropical paradise of scenic beauty, rugged landscapes, extraordinary flora and fauna and cultural diversity. The numerous ethnic groups in Sabah is kaleidoscope of its enchanting culture unseen anywhere in the world. Sabah is the perfect place for jungle trekking, cave exploration, white water rafting, mountain climbing or deep sea diving or simply a heavenly place to laze around the white sandy beach whilst enjoying the sun.
